The Jefferson County Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Dublin Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. Jefferson County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Jefferson County had to suffer through a rough 42-2 loss at the hands of Bleckley County. Jefferson County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-0.
Meanwhile, Dublin really took it to Dooly County for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-21 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Dublin, who have now won four matches by 28 points or more so far this season.
Jefferson County's loss was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 14-1 Thomson and 13-1 Swainsboro (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 72.6% over those games). Dublin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Jefferson County was dealt a bruising 51-0 loss at the hands of Dublin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Jefferson County have more luck at home instead of on the road?
