The Eastside Eagles had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came out on top against Clarke Central by a score of 14-7. This was payback for Eastside, who suffered a 28-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Eastside was led to victory by Marion Eubanks and Jayden Barr. Eubanks picked up 83 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Barr gained 126 total yards and a touchdown.
Eastside's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Heritage and 2-5 Alcovy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.6% over those games). As for Clarke Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Winder-Barrow the next time they take the field. Eastside will head out to face Winder-Barrow at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th, while Clarke Central will host them at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
