Arcadia's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Chincoteague Ponies a 10-0 shutout. The Firebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Ryann Giddens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Payton Taylor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brinlee Kauthen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Arcadia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Arcadia is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Chincoteague, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Arcadia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-0 victory against Northampton on the 1st. As for Chincoteague, they have also already played their next match, a 13-1 win against Nandua on the 1st.
