The Jefferson Academy Jaguars can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 45-3 win over Stargate School at home. Winning may never get old, but Jefferson Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jefferson Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elsa Nygren, who scored 14 points along with five steals and two blocks. Nygren hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylin Chichirico, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Stargate School struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Jefferson Academy pulled down 20 offensive rebounds.
Jefferson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Stargate School, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road.
Jefferson Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Dayspring Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Dayspring Christian Academy is ranked 99th, while Jefferson Academy is ranked 117th). As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to challenge The Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Allowing an average of 56.1 points per game, The Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup.
