The Chapel Hill Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Jordan Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Chapel Hill will be strutting in after a victory while Jordan will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Chapel Hill earned a 52-42 win over East Chapel Hill. Given Chapel Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while East Chapel Hill is ranked 337th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
David Mirikwe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Mcilwane, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jordan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Hillside by a score of 55-52. The match was a 23-23 toss-up at halftime, but Jordan couldn't quite close it out.
Chapel Hill's victory bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Jordan, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Chapel Hill strolled past Jordan when the teams last played on January 12th by a score of 65-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chapel Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
