Sarasota has gone a perfect 3-0 against South Fort Myers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sailors are taking a road trip to take on the Wolfpack at 6:00 p.m. Sarasota is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Sarasota is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Venice just ended the team's 11-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 4-0 to the Indians. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Sailors' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, South Fort Myers scored first but ultimately less than Southwest Florida Christian in their match on Tuesday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the King's. The Wolfpack have struggled against the King's recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Will Flaherty put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Owen Kircher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Juan Angeles was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Sarasota's record is now 16-4-1. As for South Fort Myers, their record now sits at 7-12.

Sarasota skirted past South Fort Myers 3-1 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sailors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
