The Holliday Eagles came tearing into Friday's contest with 22 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Bowie 58-43. Given Holliday's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Bowie is ranked 625th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Keitenn Bristow, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 20 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashtyn Berry, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Bowie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brady Lawhorn, who scored six points along with five rebounds. Andrew Sandhoff was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Holliday's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.1 points per game. As for Bowie, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-13.
Coincidentally, Holliday and Bowie will both be playing Iowa Park the next time they take the court. Bowie will head out to face Iowa Park at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Holliday will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
