The White House Blue Devils will be home for the holidays to greet the Franklin-Simpson Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in White House's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Even though Trousdale County scored an imposing 61 points on Monday, White House still came out on top. White House walked away with a 68-61 victory over Trousdale County. Given White House's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Trousdale County is ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
White House's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dawson Carson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Louis Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Franklin-Simpson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Warren East. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
White House's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Franklin-Simpson, they bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
