Basketball Recap: Summit Academy Skates Past Mckinney School of Art with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Summit Academy over McKinney School of Art in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Summit Academy Eagles blew McKinney School of Art out of the water with an 84-48 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Summit Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Rodriguez out in front who posted 31 points along with eight boards and six assists. Rodriguez's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Dimarco Dixon was another key player, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten assists.

Summit Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.8 points per game. As for McKinney School of Art, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Summit Academy has already played their next matchup, a 64-57 win against Adams Street Academy on the 25th. As for McKinney School of Art, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brooklyn Community Arts & Media at 5:00 p.m. on February 5th.
