The Parkview Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Bolivar Liberators at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Parkview is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Parkview had to suffer through a rough 77-23 loss at the hands of West Plains. While losing is never fun, Parkview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while West Plains is ranked 35th).
Parkview's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brooklynn Masten, who scored 14 points along with three steals and two blocks, and Austin Hall who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 60.9% of Parkview's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Bolivar's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 70-51 to Camdenton.
Parkview's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Bolivar, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Parkview, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-50 loss to Bolivar in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Parkview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
