Kimball moved up to 407 from 448 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Valley Oak. The Jaguars climbed the ranks as a result of topping Weston Ranch 55-7.
Oakdale extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Manteca, 28-7. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Mustangs.
Guillermo Nunez and Anthony Cota gave Sierra a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Nunez threw for 46 yards and one touchdown, while Cota ran for 153 yards. Nunez also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.
Tylo Both was the best wideout in the league this week as the Buffaloes fell to Oakdale. Both racked up two receptions for 71 yards. TJ Galdos helped Manteca's passing attack out by catching five balls for 64 yards.
Sal Pena made the biggest impact on defense this week as Manteca lost to Trent Merzon's team. The 5-foot-9 senior grabbed one sack.
Thanks to the talents of Jake Pruitt and Cota the Timberwolves have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Pruitt leads the league in passing with 1061 yards, while Cota has rushed for 1672 yards this season. Eric Reis' team's Galdos leads the league in receiving yards with 505 on 42 catches.
The Buffaloes' Eddie Smith is a mere eight yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 157 carries Smith has accumulated 992 yard this year.
A big matchup in Valley Oak this week will be when Sierra takes on the Cougars. At the moment, Jeff Harbison's team is in first, while Weston Ranch is in fourth.
Kimball made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,236 from 5,639. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 55-7 victory over Mike Hale's team last week.
