The Grossmont Foothillers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Granite Hills Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Grossmont put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 46-21 margin over Santana. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Grossmont just coasted through the last quarter.
Noah Walker and Hudson Herber were among the main playmakers for Grossmont as the former picked up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 296 yards and four touchdowns. Joshua Ferrara got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Granite Hills put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They slipped by Helix 44-43.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Granite Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Max Turner, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Jackson, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Grossmont now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Granite Hills, their win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0.
Grossmont took a serious blow against Granite Hills in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 55-0. Thankfully for Grossmont, Zak Darling (who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
