Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Riggs Governors walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 35-14 margin over Watertown. The result was nothing new for Riggs, who have now won eight matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Even if they lost, Watertown's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Caden Beauchamp and his two sacks.
The win (which was Riggs' fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Riggs will square off against Yankton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yankton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Watertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
