Olivia Harris made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Lillie Beheler was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maeli Crain, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
R-S Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Rutherford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Brevard by a score of 6-3 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
East Rutherford's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.1 runs this season. As for R-S Central, their record is now 7-1.
R-S Central couldn't quite finish off East Rutherford in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 10-8. Can R-S Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
