Thornton Fractional South extended the longest winning streak in South Suburban - Blue this week by beating Bremen, 21-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Thornton Fractional North made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,863 from 11,285. The improvement came about via a 49-6 victory over the Meteors last week.
Hillcrest's Devonte Brewer and London Covington have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Brewer has thrown for 1210 yards this season, while Covington, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 42 catches for 660 yards. The Braves' Devonta Wilson leads the league in rushing yards with 876.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Bremen takes on Lemont. Dan Stell's team's offense has scored 193 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Indians have allowed only 59 on the year.
A big matchup in South Suburban - Blue this week will be when Oak Forest takes on Tinley Park. The Bengals are currently in second, while the Titans are in fourth.
