Basketball Recap: Chagrin Falls Piles Up the Points Against Orange

Chagrin Falls had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by the Orange Lions to the tune of 57-23. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chagrin Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Russell, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Russell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Stukus, who posted 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Chagrin Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Chagrin Falls' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Orange, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chagrin Falls will welcome Perry at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Chagrin Falls is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.4 points per game this season. Orange will take on Richmond Heights in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Richmond Heights will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Orange surely won't give up without a fight.
