The IMater Charter Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Mater Brickell Academy Bulls at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. IMater Charter will be strutting in after a win while Mater Brickell Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
IMater Charter scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Downtown Doral with a sharp 87-61 victory. The win was just what iMater Charter needed coming off of a 82-46 loss in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Mater Brickell Academy came up short against MAST Academy on Wednesday and fell 63-51.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was David Jimenez, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Fritner Catilus, who scored 14 points along with two blocks.
The victory got iMater Charter back to even at 5-5. As for Mater Brickell Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
IMater Charter strolled past Mater Brickell Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 64-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for iMater Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
