The Solon Comets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Medina at home and fell 35-0. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Solon in their matchups with Medina: they've now lost four in a row.
Medina's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cooper Josefczyk, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. Danny Stoddard was another key contributor, throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.2% of his passes.
Solon's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Medina, Cleveland Heights, and Mentor. As for Medina, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Solon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Medina will be playing at home against John Marshall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. John Marshall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Medina is ranked 39th).
