After a string of four wins, the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saranac. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Tupper Lake came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 195th, while Saranac is ranked 485th).
Despite the loss, Tupper Lake still got an impressive performance from Thomas Peterson, who scored 38 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Peterson hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Corneau, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Tupper Lake's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3. As for Saranac, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Tupper Lake will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Brushton-Moira at 7:15 p.m. Brushton-Moira and Tupper Lake are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Saranac, they will head out on the road to face off against Beekmantown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
