The Pierce County Bears will face off against the Rockmart Yellowjackets at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pierce County comes in on eight and Rockmart on 11.
Pierce County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Fitzgerald on the road to the tune of 35-7. The result was nothing new for Pierce County, who have now won 12 contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Caden Mcgatha, who rushed for 328 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Mcgatha was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards.
Meanwhile, Rockmart's offense rose to the challenge against a Hornets defense that boasted an average of only 15.8 points allowed. Rockmart walked away with a 34-24 victory over Cook on Friday.
Rockmart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brent Washington, who rushed for 51 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Calliyon Thompson, who threw for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Pierce County's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Rockmart, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
