Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Piles Up the Points Against Faith Christian Academy

GVCS Broadfording had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Faith Christian Academy on Tuesday. The GVCS Broadfording Lions simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Faith Christian Academy Falcons 72-45. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Fernando Garcia was his usual excellent self, going 14 for 21 en route to 34 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Garcia is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jordan Kruczynski also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

GVCS Broadfording was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Christian Academy only posted five assists.

Faith Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Mason Altier, who posted 11 points and five boards. Jackson Thompson was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

GVCS Broadfording pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Faith Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. GVCS Broadfording will venture away from home to square off against Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southern will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something GVCS Broadfording surely won't give up without a fight. Faith Christian Academy has already played their next contest (against Grace Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
