The Monrovia Bulldogs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 93-24 victory over Providence Cristo Rey at home. That 69 point margin sets a new team best for Monrovia this season.
Monrovia's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Jones led the charge by scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Tucker Rahn, who scored 19 points along with six steals.
The win (which was Monrovia's third in a row) raised their record to 6-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.7 points per game. As for Providence Cristo Rey, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Monrovia won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Edgewood is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Providence Cristo Rey, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the at 7:30 p.m.
