The Dyersburg Trojans will face off against the East Nashville Magnet Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Dyersburg sitting on 13 straight wins and East Nashville Magnet on six.
With a playoff game on the line, Dyersburg rose to the challenge on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 25-24 victory over the Chargers.
Meanwhile, East Nashville Magnet put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 41-14 victory over Liberty Creek.
Elijah Usher and Kelan Anderson were among the main playmakers for East Nashville Magnet as the former rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown and the latter rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to East Nashville Magnet's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ladonnis Mcglothen jr. and Tion Curry who racked up four sacks between them.
Dyersburg pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.58 points. As for East Nashville Magnet, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Dyersburg came up short against East Nashville Magnet when the teams last played back in November of 2021, falling 20-7. Can Dyersburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
