Even though the Cascade Bruins scored an imposing 55 points on Saturday, the Jackson Timberwolves still came out on top. Jackson took their contest against Cascade 65-55. Given Jackson's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Cascade is ranked 284th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jackson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Mcferran led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 22 rebounds. Mcferran is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Colby Cooke, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds.
The victory (which was Jackson's third in a row) raised their record to 14-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Cascade, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.
Jackson and Skyline will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Jackson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday. Cascade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
