4A Southwestern recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Rocky River, who took down 59th ranked Rocky River, 37-13. Ross Jeffries threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 25 yards in the win.
Butler extended the longest winning streak in 4A Southwestern this week by beating Independence, 33-14. This was the team's 10th consecutive win.
Myers Park's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jaquavion Alexander chipped in 162 yards. Shakeal O'Bryant helped Myers Park's passing attack out by catching two balls for 54 yards.
Jontavius Hall was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs bested the Ravens. Hall racked up three receptions for 57 yards.
Independence's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jason Connella has thrown for 1676 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Dequan Barnes has 41 catches for 843 yards. Isiah Robinson leads the league in rushing with 1163 yards.
Myers Park moved up to 104 from 130 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Southwestern. Greg Taylor's team was able to make move up by topping Rocky River 37-13.
