Middletown South gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Monmouth Regional Falcons 2-0. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Riley Smith's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 18 Ks.
On the hitting side, Nora Sarcone was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
