The Roosevelt Rough Riders will venture away from home to face off against the Hoover Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Roosevelt will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Tuesday, Roosevelt earned a 13-9 victory over Madera South.

Iyanna Molano made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Molano was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lenna Garcia was excellent, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Natalie Torres, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Hoover had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Warriors on the board, marking their second-straight 11-0 shutout. Considering the Patriots have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Roosevelt, Hoover also got a great game from a two-way player: Hazel Martinez. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Martinez has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samantha Vasquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. Monica Raumaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.
Hoover was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fresno only posted a batting average of .118.
Hoover's record is now 10-5. As for Roosevelt, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-11.
Roosevelt might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Hoover in their previous meeting on April 8th. Can the Rough Riders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
