Westinghouse had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Disney II Titans 19-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 28-14 last Tuesday.
Emily Coleman made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs.
In other batting news, Jocelyn Lewis was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Randi Thomas, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Westinghouse pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Disney II, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
