The Proviso West Panthers won the last time they faced the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Proviso West secured a 52-48 W over the Huskies.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabriella Chesney, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chesney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Genevieve Simkowski, who scored ten points.
Proviso West's victory bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they dropped their record down to 5-21 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Proviso West won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Dukes at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. York presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Illinois (the Dukes are ranked 72nd, while the Panthers are ranked 350th). As for Oak Park-River Forest, they will head out on the road to challenge the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Hinsdale Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
