Tanque Verde hasn't had much luck against Walden Grove recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tanque Verde Hawks will face off against the Walden Grove Red Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Tanque Verde is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
Last Thursday, Tanque Verde got the win against Douglas by a conclusive 14-7. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Landon Walker was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Liam Brunell, who scored two runs while going 4-for-5. He has become a key player for Tanque Verde: the team is 5-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Lewis, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Tanque Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Walden Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Estrella Foothills on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Wolves have posted since April 24, 2024.
Walden Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Baray, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.
Tanque Verde's record is now 6-3-1. As for Walden Grove, their record now sits at 6-3.
Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tanque Verde has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .552. However, it's not like Walden Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Tanque Verde suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Walden Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Tanque Verde avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
