The Frassati Catholic Falcons had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They managed a 34-30 victory over Rosehill Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Frassati Catholic also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Charlie Strahley was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Rice, who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Frassati Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Ignacio Lasta and his two sacks.
Despite the loss, Rosehill Christian still got an impressive performance from Trey Walker III, who rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Caleb Davila was another key contributor, picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Frassati Catholic's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Rosehill Christian, All Saints Episcopal, and KIPP Houston. As for Rosehill Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Frassati Catholic's homestand continues as they prepare to take on St. Andrew's at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (St. Andrew's is ranked 935th, while Frassati Catholic is ranked 952nd). As for Rosehill Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Northland Christian at 7:00 p.m. Northland Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
