Palisades is 8-1 against Catasauqua since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Palisades Pirates will be playing at home against the Catasauqua Rough Riders at 7:00 p.m.
Palisades' 8-3 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They suffered a tough 38-12 defeat at the hands of Minersville on Friday. Palisades has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Catasauqua had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their match at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-6 victory over Panther Valley. The result was nothing new for Catasauqua, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Catasauqua's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aiden Hess, who threw for 123 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Jyzaiah Bonilla, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Catasauqua's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Chad Beller jr..
Palisades' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-0 Southern Lehigh and 8-0 Palmerton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 84.4% over those games). As for Catasauqua, their victory on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4.
Palisades couldn't quite finish off Catasauqua when the teams last played back in November of 2022 and fell 17-14. Can Palisades avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
