It was a good run, but the Lexington Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They were outmatched by Jackson South Side on the road and fell 69-40. While losing is never fun, Lexington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while the Hawks are ranked 49th).
Jackson South Side got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kimora Currie out in front who scored 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Jaidynn Askins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Lexington's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Jackson South Side, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.
Lexington will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Jackson South Side focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday. As for they, they will head out on the road to square off against Lexington at 6:00 p.m.
