They took a 33-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Valley View. The Bulldogs gained 99 more yards on the day, but it was the Eagles that made the best use of them.
Despite the defeat, Alvord got top-tier performance from Dalton George, who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and also threw for 371 yards and a touchdown. George got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible65 yards. Zane Fuentes was George's top target, picking up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Even though they lost, Alvord was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 500 total yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley View only gained 401.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Alvord, adding 11 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Callum Taylor: he added nine points with three field goals, and another two kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, Lindsay humbled Nocona with a 47-6 victory.
