Football Recap: Choctawhatchee Skates Past Booker T. Washington with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Choctawhatchee had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 33-0 win over the Booker T. Washington Wildcats. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Diaris Morales produced another solid effort throwing for 246 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.8% of her passes. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in passer rating (144.4). Choctawhatchee's leading receiver Shilah Borden was Morales' top target yet again, picking up 87 receiving yards and one TD.

Another reason for the win was Choctawhatchee's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Bri Rivers.

The victory (which was Choctawhatchee's third in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for Booker T. Washington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Coming up, Choctawhatchee will host Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 10.3 points per game this season, so the Indians' offense will have their work cut out for them. Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
