Hoggard is 10-0 against the Trojans since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Hoggard Vikings will look to defend their home court against the West Brunswick Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Hoggard is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
In what's become a running theme this season, Hoggard gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 51-15 victory over North Brunswick on the road. With Hoggard ahead 29-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Hoggard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tristan Shivers, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists. Sarah Elgart was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Even though West Brunswick has not done well against the Buccaneers recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. West Brunswick came out on top against the Buccaneers by a score of 37-26.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Brunswick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Saniya Stanley, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Coble, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Hoggard's victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.6 points. As for West Brunswick, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
Everything went Hoggard's way against the Trojans when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the Vikings made off with a 53-28 win. Does Hoggard have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
