Campbell will look to defend their home turf on Friday against McCluer at 7:00 PM. Campbell have seen their point totals decreasing over the past three games, a vulnerability McCluer are surely hoping to exploit.
The struggle was real when Campbell and Altavista Combined School clashed last Friday, but Campbell ultimately edged out the opposition 20-18. The Campbell offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the matchup anyway.
Meanwhile, McCluer have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took the game and then some with a 52-6 win over Nelson County. McCluer were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Their wins bumped McCluer to 1-3 and Campbell to 4-0. While both teams are coming in off of wins, only one will triumph this week. Who will it be ? Check back in with MaxPreps after the game is over for details.
