After having lost a blowout in their previous game against First Assembly Christian Academy, the Hart 2 Hart Academy Warriors were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 win over First Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Hart 2 Hart Academy has posted yet this season.
Hart 2 Hart Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Bliffin led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Bliffin continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Fuller, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Hart 2 Hart Academy's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for First Christian, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Hart 2 Hart Academy will take on St. John Lutheran at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully St. John Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for First Christian, they will face off against Lake Wales at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Wales knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully First Christian likes a good challenge.
