The Hurricane Tigers pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cedar. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hurricane in their matchups with Cedar: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Hurricane still got an impressive performance from Cayleb Jackman, who almost dropped a triple-double on 24 points, ten rebounds, and nine blocks. The matchup was Jackman's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rj Hurst, who scored 11 points.
Hurricane bumped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cedar, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-8.
Hurricane will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Canyon View at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Canyon View knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Hurricane likes a good challenge. Cedar will finish 2023 at home by hosting Layton Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on December 29th. Hopefully Layton Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
