Even though the Bethlehem Center Bulldogs have not done well against the Carmichaels Mighty Mikes recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Bethlehem Center managed a 61-55 win over Carmichaels. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Bethlehem Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jason Zellie led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which Zellie has scored at least 25% of Bethlehem Center's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Tharp, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Bethlehem Center and bumps their season record up to 3-6. As for Carmichaels, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Bethlehem Center will head out on the road to face off against Burgettstown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Burgettstown will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
