The Crismon Rattlers will face off against the Poston Butte Broncos at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crismon has eight straight victories, Poston Butte has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Monday, Crismon made easy work of St. Mary's and carried off a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Rattlers, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Ashton Christensen looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Crismon let Ryan Wilsford and Kenny Wilsford run wild. Ryan went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Kenny scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Ryan has posted since back in April of 2024. Jackson Herzberg was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Crismon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Poston Butte came up short against Deer Valley on Friday and fell 8-5.
Poston Butte saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Albertson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another was Matthew Brizuela, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Crismon pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Poston Butte, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
Poston Butte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Crismon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .416. It's a different story for Poston Butte, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Crismon's hitters?
