Marietta might have drawn first blood against Comanche on Thursday, but it was Comanche who got the last laugh. It was close but no cigar for Marietta as they fell 19-21 to Comanche. This makes it the second loss in a row for Marietta.
Marietta got a solid performance out of senior Zack Spanglo, who rushed for 178 yards and 1 touchdown; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the win. One of the most memorable plays of the game was Spanglo's 65-yard touchdown rush in the fourth quarter. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Coleby Ing, who racked up 13 tackles. The game leaves both teams with the exact same record at 2-2.
Next week Marietta take on Dickson at 7:30 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend. As for Comanche, they will face off against Coalgate. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous games.
