The Mourning Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 73-37 defeat at the hands of North Miami. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mourning in their matchups with North Miami: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Mourning still got an impressive performance from Alvintino Charles, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Charles hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Chapa, who scored two points along with three steals.
North Miami's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Jean-Jacques, who scored 28 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Bradley Gregoire, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Mourning's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8. As for North Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mourning will take on Goleman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Miami, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Carol City at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
