The Manteca Buffaloes are taking a road trip to challenge the Mountain House Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Manteca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Manteca's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Sierra with a sharp 6-0 victory.

Not much got past Jeremy Cross, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Sierra off the board. Those seven strikeouts gave Cross a new career-high.
At the plate, Manteca let Jace Quitasol and Cameron Jimenez run wild. Quitasol scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Jimenez went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits Quitasol has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Edward Anthony, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Manteca hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Mountain House was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Dublin, falling 8-1.
Keenan Hardy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
Mountain House's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Manteca, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Mountain House's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Manteca has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game.
