Reedsville is 7-1 against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Panthers will square off against the Resorters. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Reedsville 4, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Reedsville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Green Lake/Princeton with a sharp 10-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kodie Bubolz and Lucas Lodel were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Bubolz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Lodel didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Bubolz has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Bubolz went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Lodel went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Lodel has posted since back in May.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Schwahn, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Ubersox, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Reedsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Lake/Princeton only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah posted their closest victory since May 5th on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Oakfield, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Resorters, who have now won three games in a row.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trayden Rebedew, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Reedsville is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, their record is now 14-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Reedsville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Reedsville took their win against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah in their previous matchup back in May by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Resorters have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
