Vincennes Rivet is 2-8 against Northeast Dubois since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Vincennes Rivet Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Northeast Dubois Jeeps at 7:30 p.m. Vincennes Rivet is hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Vincennes Rivet suffered their biggest defeat since November 25, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by North Central 76-38. Vincennes Rivet has not had much luck with North Central recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Northeast Dubois was the victim of a tough 66-41 loss at the hands of Paoli on Friday. While losing is never fun, Northeast Dubois can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Paoli is ranked 86th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Drew Schroering, who scored 11 points. Maddox Schnell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Vincennes Rivet has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Northeast Dubois, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Vincennes Rivet was taken down by Northeast Dubois 70-33 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Vincennes Rivet avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
