Even though the Chapel Hill Panthers have not done well against the Lithia Springs Lions recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Chapel Hill managed a 50-44 victory over Lithia Springs. For Chapel Hill, this counts as revenge for the 51-41 loss Lithia Springs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Chapel Hill found their leader in underclassman Emahni Chambliss, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Chambliss has scored at least a third of Chapel Hill's points. Another player making a difference was Bryale Thomas, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Despite the loss, Lithia Springs still got an impressive performance from Amaya Richmond, who scored 18 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aires Davis, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Chapel Hill's win bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Lithia Springs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chapel Hill will take on Creekside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapel Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Creekside is ranked 73rd). As for Lithia Springs, they and Mays will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
