The Riverside Beavers came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by North on the road to the tune of 61-29. Given Riverside's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Rangers are ranked 599th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samantha Cantrell, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelie Cisternino, who scored eight points.
Riverside has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for North, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverside will square off against the Hilltoppers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Chardon will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rebels at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. South is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
