Basketball Recap: Jasmin Brown Key Part of a Team Effort in Gators Win

There's no place like home for Goleman, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 34-25 victory over the Central Rockets on Monday. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 34-17 win the Rockets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Goleman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jasmin Brown led the charge by putting up seven points and nine steals. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season. Akayla Edwards was another key player, posting 14 points.

Goleman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points per game. As for Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Goleman will welcome Miami Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Goleman's defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so Miami Beach's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Central, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pace at 6:00 p.m.
