They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Evangel Christian 45-42. This was payback for Banks Academy, who suffered a 68-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Lightning players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hayden Black, who scored 13 points. Clay Stanton was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

As for Evangel Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Jose Giron and Owen Bugnar.
